The most common reason for a birth is long, is that véerne is inadequate. In addition, it may be because the baby is too big (or woman is too narrow), or that it is a wrong position Forster (abnormal fetal presentation). In rare cases it may be due to defects in the child such as hydrocephalus, where the child's head is disproportionately large (this would normally be detected before birth).

Treatment of protracted birth

Treatment varies according to the operative cause. In the case of insufficient Veer, the solution may be a drop with a synthetic hormone that stimulates véerne.
At irregular fetal presentations, it may be necessary to use the tools at birth.

Select and complications

During birth, the fetus is monitored with kardiotokografi, there is a monitoring of the child's heartbeat and mother's labor pains, and possibly also take blood samples from the child's head.
